This private guided Paris Discovery tour will give you an overview of the most famous monuments and historical sites of the city.
After a brief introduction to the architecture of Paris, we will start the tour at the geographical center of Paris, the Opera Garnier, then drive to Place Vendome, the Palais Royal, the Louvre (outside visit), continue along the Seine River to the Ile de la Cite, passed the Conciergerie, before making your first stop at Notre Dame Cathedral for a guided tour. Next, you will continue by the Hotel de Ville (Town Hall) and the Ile St Louis, before arriving in the Marais District, which is one of the most interesting areas of the city. Here you will take a short walking tour with your guide. You will go along rue des Francs Bourgeois to Place des Vosges, the first royal square in Paris.
After this, you will cross the Seine River over to the Left Bank with the Latin Quarter, also known as the student quarter, Sorbonne University, the Pantheon, the Luxembourg Gardens, St Sulpice Church and the Saint Germain District, which has been the home of many jazz musicians, writers and painters since the roaring twenties. There will be time for lunch in a typical French restaurant or bistro (not included in the price). Your guide can help you choose a place that will suit your tastes.
After lunch, the tour will continue passed the French Institute, the Orsay Museum (outside visit), the Concorde Square, the Champs Elysees, Napoleon's Arc de Triomphe, the Grand Palais, the Invalides (outside visit) and the Eiffel Tower where we will stop for photos before continuing on to Montmartre, the village of artists such as Renoir, Picasso, Braque, Toulouse Lautrec, Gauguin and Van Gogh. It is also home to highest point in Paris and provides a stunning view. Your guide will take you on a short walking tour so you can take in the scenery of the area, with its cafes and shops and Sacre Coeur Basilica before driving you back to your hotel.
