Ronda and Setenil de las Bodegas are among the most enchanting, historic destinations in southern Andalusia. This tour begins in the village of Setenil de las Bodegas, which is famous for its white houses, or “pueblos blancos,” that were built into overhanging rocks. After free time to explore the village and take in the sprawling views of the surrounding landscape, participants will continue to Ronda. A guided sightseeing tour here will introduce guests to such important sites as the Almocábar Gate, the Church of the Holy Spirit, Town Hall Square, and the Church of Santa Maria la Mayor. Following this tour, guests will visit the famous Plaza de Toros de la Maestranza—considered the birthplace of traditional bullfighting and home to the Corrida Goyesca, a celebratory bullfight that pays homage to the artistic achievements of Francisco de Goya. Guests will enjoy a visit to the bullfighting museum here before continuing on to a local winery called Bodegas La Sangre de Ronda. Here guests have the chance to taste several local wines and learn about the historic and cultural impacts of wine on the region. Guests will have free time for lunch and exploration on their own before returning to their pick-up location on the Costa del Sol.
