Covid-19 Update and Travel Planning Information

May 17, 2022

The following information has been compiled to help you stay informed of the constantly changing landscape of travel to Europe for North Americans. Below you will find updates about our policies, a country-by-country Travel Planning section, as well as links to additional helpful resources. Scroll down or use the 'Quick Menu' in the upper right corner to navigate to each section.

International Travel is Operating

We do not anticipate suspending departures to any countries where either vaccinated or unvaccinated clients are able to travel, based on regulations in those countries. You can find conditions for travel and additional country-by-country information in the 'Travel Planning' section below, and clients should ensure they meet the requirements for all countries on their itinerary.

Travel Insurance is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Even in the best of times, travel insurance is an important element of any international vacation. Travel Insurance not only covers a client's payment, but also provides medical coverage for injury or illness while traveling. Most Health Insurance in the US does not provide coverage when traveling in Europe.

During these times of COVID, it is even more important than ever that clients understand the risks of not purchasing Travel Insurance. We are seeing clients test positive prior to departure for Europe, causing them to cancel their plans. We are seeing clients test positive before returning home, or moving on to another country on their itinerary, requiring them to self-isolate for 1-2 weeks, or worse, seek medical assistance in a hospital. All of this can come at great financial cost to your clients.

Please protect your clients and their money - make sure they have Travel Insurance that covers them while abroad, and ensure it has coverage for costs associated with contracting COVID, before or during their travels.

If you need assistance offering an appropriate policy, you can find two non-age-rated options at the following link, including a Cancel for Any Reason policy: https://www.etravelprotection.com/europeexpress/home

2. For Cancel/Refund or FTC option on departures traveling between January 1st and to September 30th, 2022

FTC Option:

Cancel for a Refund Option:

Note: The above policies may be withdrawn or changed at any time. If changes occur, the above would still apply to bookings deposited prior to the date the changes take effect.

Travel Planning

As of May 17, 2022
The following information has been compiled to assist with your clients' travel planning. Due to the rapidly changing conditions across Europe, regulations and restrictions adopted by individual countries may change without advance notice. As a result, Europe Express has made every effort to confirm that the information in this Travel Planning section is accurate as of the above date but cannot guarantee accuracy after that date. Please regularly consult the links below to ensure you have the most up-to-date information about entry requirements for all countries on your clients' itinerary. Europe Express is not responsible for costs associated with passengers being denied entry due to not meeting requirements for travel. Please contact your BDM or a Reservations Specialist if you have additional questions.

Most European countries are requiring the following from arriving visitors:

IMPORTANT: Although countries have reopened their borders to international travelers, conditions have not yet returned to the way things were prior to the pandemic, and the travel experience may be different. It is important to set expectations with your clients. Service levels at local businesses, attractions, restaurants and other venues will likely not yet be the same as they were pre-COVID. Europe Express confirms services prior to departure, however, staffing reductions in Europe and frequently changing COVID restrictions could impact the service delivery of our partners with little or no notice.

If your clients do not have a flexible mindset, they should consider delaying their travels to Europe to allow local restrictions to be further relaxed, and more local businesses and suppliers to fully reopen.

Please continue to consult the provided links for the most up-to-date and country-by-country information.

Conditions for Travel with Europe Express
Europe Express has made the decision to allow existing bookings to travel, or to take new bookings for travel if the bookings meet the following conditions:

New bookings must be made two weeks or more prior to departure.

Day of arrival Sightseeing and Activities
Due to potential delays at passport control on arrival, we strongly advise that clients do not book sightseeing/activities early on the day of arrival. If these services are missed due to delays on arrival, suppliers will deem them non-refundable.

Vaccination and Quarantine Requirements
Many countries in Europe require proof of vaccination or recovery from COVID-19 in order for visitors from the USA to avoid a mandatory quarantine on arrival. Please regularly review the links provided below and ensure your clients understand and meet all entry requirements and local restrictions for all countries on their itinerary.
Note: Requirements for Canadian travelers may differ from those required for US citizens. Use the links below to verify specific requirements for Canadian travelers.

COVID Booster Requirement Some Countries in Europe have begun to implement requirements for visitors to have received a Booster shot in addition to their original vaccination. This requirement will vary from country to country, and at this point we're mostly seeing it range from 6-9 months from the final vaccination shot depending on the country your clients are visiting. It is expected that more countries will implement this requirement in the coming weeks and months.

Please use the links below to ensure your clients understand and meet any booster requirement for all countries on their planned itinerary. Europe Express is not responsible for costs associated with passengers being denied entry due to not meeting Government imposed requirements.

Testing Requirements
Some countries also require proof of a Negative COVID test for entry (regardless of vaccination status). Clients are responsible for meeting all requirements. Please carefully review the types of tests accepted and timing regulations. Failure to do so will result in denial of entry. Europe Express is not responsible for costs associated with passengers being denied entry due to not meeting requirements for travel.
Hotels, restaurants and other local businesses may have additional testing requirements for travelers who are NOT Vaccinated, please review the links below carefully.

Passenger Locator Forms (PLF)
Most countries require visitors to submit an online PLF. Most countries require the form to be filled out online between 24-72 hours prior to arrival, or in some cases prior to your departure. The requirements vary from country to country and it is the responsibility of you and your client to be aware of, and meet, the requirement for each country visited on the itinerary (not only the first country of arrival). Failure to do so will mean your clients will be denied boarding by the airline. Links to PLF are provided below for countries where it is currently known the form is required. This may not be an exhaustive list.

Entry requirements and local regulations are changing frequently, often with little or no warning, so we are providing you with links to official US, Canadian and European government sites for each country below, which are regularly updated by the appropriate authorities to give you access to the most up-to-date information available at all times.
