On our group Ancient City Essential Experience, we explore the remains of the largest ancient empire, bringing to life the sights and sounds that filled these great areas two millennia ago. You will visit the ancient Roman Forum, Colosseum and the birthplace of Rome: the Palatine Hill. In the Colosseum you will overlook the arena where gladiators fought for centuries and in the Forum you will walk the square where Julius Caesar, Cicero and Augustus gave their famous speeches. Then, we venture even further into the history of the Roman Empire, covering the impressive remains of the enormous palaces of the emperors on the Palatine Hill. The Palatine has a wonderful view of the Tiber River, the Roman Forum, the Colosseum, the Circus Maximus and the entire city. This tour allows you to deepen your understanding of the private and intimate aspects of Roman daily life after having explored the public side of it in the Forum and the Colosseum.
Please Note: Lines at the Colosseum could be long on the 1st Sunday of the month with no priority entrance guaranteed.
