Private Family Run Cookery Class: Scottish Afternoon Tea
In the picturesque countryside of East Lothian, just beyond Edinburgh, this hands-on baking class offers a warm introduction to Scotland’s cherished teatime traditions. Upon arrival, guests are greeted with a choice of freshly brewed tea, coffee, or fragrant elderflower cordial made from local foraging. There’s time to soak in the views from the sunlit courtyard or wander the wellness garden, where a gentle stream winds past fig trees. Under expert guidance, prepare an assortment of sweet and savory delights, using the finest local ingredients. Recipes may include golden scones served with jam and clotted cream, rich buttery shortbread, and dainty cucumber sandwiches.
Once the baking is complete, gather for a traditional afternoon tea, savoring their creations alongside a curated selection of Scottish teas. It’s a flavorful, relaxing, and authentically local experience in a beautiful rural setting.
