Private Full Day Tour - Castles, Cairns & Culloden: A Journey Through Highland History
The tour begins from the traveler's hotel lobby greeted by an experienced chauffer guide. The first stop on the day's itinerary is Cawdor Castle, a magnificent 14th-century fortress built around a legendary holly tree. Still home to the Campbell family, its elegant rooms and enchanting gardens bring history to life. Guests may enjoy a delightful afternoon tea in the charming Courtyard Café. The tour continues to Culloden Battlefield, where the last hand-to-hand battle on British soil unfolded. Guests will enter the visitor center and visit the restored grounds which offer a powerful and moving glimpse into this defining moment in Scottish history. Just a short distance away lies Clava Cairns, a peaceful riverside site of standing stones and Bronze Age cairns, over 4,000 years old. Steeped in mystery, it offers a rare connection to Scotland’s ancient past. The day will end with a scenic driver back to Inverness.
