Historic landmarks and timeless townscapes define this full-day exploration of Pisa and Lucca. The journey begins in Pisa’s Square of Miracles, where participants take in the iconic Leaning Tower, rising 196 feet beside the cathedral. Time is set aside to explore the Baptistery and Cathedral, home to the remains of Saint Ranierius, Pisa’s patron saint, as well as the Camposanto Monumentale, a striking cloistered cemetery known for its arches and medieval design.

Leaving Pisa behind, the route continues through the Tuscan countryside toward Lucca, set in the Serchio River valley. Encircled by remarkably preserved Renaissance walls, the town invites leisurely discovery on foot. They can walk along the 16th-century ramparts, wander cobblestone streets, and admire Romanesque churches in the historic center. Highlights include the Cathedral of Saint Martin and Piazza dell’Anfiteatro, built atop an ancient Roman arena. A taste of traditional buccellato pastry adds a sweet local touch before the return journey.
