Private The Covered Passages of Paris
Step off the grand boulevards and into a hidden world of 19th-century elegance on this guided walking tour of Paris’ famed passages couverts. Tucked behind the Right Bank near the Louvre, these historic covered arcades once numbered more than 130. Today, about 20 remain, beautifully restored and filled with character.
Led by a knowledgeable local guide, guests explore five of these charming galleries, known for their mosaic floors, glass ceilings, and intimate atmosphere. Stylish boutiques, art galleries, and long-standing cafés line the corridors, some unchanged for more than 150 years. The experience offers insight into how these passages shaped Parisian shopping culture long before modern department stores.
The tour concludes at a tucked-away historic wine bar hidden within one of the arcades. Here, participants enjoy a glass of specialty wine, savoring the ambiance of a bygone era in the heart of the city.
