Shared Experience: Sheepdog Show, Famine Cottage, Beehive Hut & Petting Farm Visit
This experience captures the charm of rural Ireland along the stunning Slea Head Drive. At Dingle Sheepdogs, guests watch expertly trained dogs respond to Irish commands as they skillfully herd sheep across Mount Eagle. Nearby, the historic Famine Cottages reveal life as it was in the 1800s, while ancient Beehive Huts, dating back to the 7th century, offer a glimpse into Ireland’s early past.
The visit also includes insight into traditional farming methods, local folklore, and the close connection between people and land. To finish, travelers stop at the petting farm, where friendly ponies, donkeys, and during lambing season, playful lambs await.
Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Wild Atlantic Way, this engaging and authentic encounter celebrates Ireland’s farming heritage, timeless landscapes, and enduring rural traditions.
