Backpacks, rucksacks, large personal bags and luggage are banned inside the Colosseum, Palatine Hill and Roman Forum.
Lines at the Colosseum could be long on the 1st Sunday of the month due to free of charge admission with no priority entrance guaranteed.
If you have a metal coated pacemaker, you will need to show your pacemaker identification card at the security check points.
Access to St. Peter's Basilica is possible at the end of the tour and must be done on your own. Please note it is not possible to enter the Basilica on Wednesdays because of the Papal Audience or on religious holidays and during special events.
People wearing shorts, low-cut clothing or uncovered shoulders may not be admitted into museums and churches.
