Small Group Tour: D-Day Tour: Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach and American Cemetery half-day morning
Guests explore some of Normandy’s most iconic World War II landmarks on this small group half-day tour from Bayeux, guided by a knowledgeable local expert. Traveling through the historic coastal countryside, the experience focuses on the events of June 6, 1944, and the sites that defined the American landings.
The tour includes time at Omaha Beach, one of the two U.S. landing areas, where wide sands and steep bluffs illustrate the scale and difficulty of the assault. When accessible, the route also includes Pointe du Hoc, where U.S. Army Rangers scaled sheer cliffs to neutralize German artillery positions; if closed, the well-preserved Longues-sur-Mer Battery offers insight into coastal defenses and Allied strategy.
The experience concludes at the Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer. Overlooking the English Channel, this peaceful memorial provides a powerful setting for reflection, honoring the soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Battle of Normandy.
