Private Tour: Bordeaux Escape: Explore Arcachon Bay with Oyster tasting
This private day trip from Bordeaux introduces the relaxed coastal atmosphere of Arcachon Bay, a celebrated seaside destination known for oyster farming, sandy beaches, and Belle Époque architecture. After a scenic drive, time is spent along the waterfront before continuing to the bay’s traditional oyster sheds, where local producers present their craft and traditions. A tasting of freshly harvested oysters is included, typically accompanied by bread, butter, and a glass of white wine. Midday allows free time for lunch at a quality seafood restaurant overlooking the bay (at own expense), with suggestions provided by the guide. In the afternoon, the experience continues at the Dune du Pilat, Europe’s highest sand dune, where panoramic views extend across the Atlantic Ocean, Arcachon Bay, and surrounding pine forests before returning to Bordeaux.
