Small Group Tour: D-Day Tour: Utah and Omaha Beaches, Ste Mère Eglise, Pointe du Hoc and US Cemetery
Travelers spend a powerful full day exploring the most significant American sites of the Normandy landings, guided by a knowledgeable local expert in World War II history. Departing from Bayeux, the journey traces the events of June 6, 1944, across beaches, villages, and memorials that shaped the outcome of the war.
The experience begins in Sainte-Mère-Église, a symbolic town at the heart of the airborne landings, where paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division played a decisive role. The route continues to Utah Beach, the westernmost U.S. landing area, known for its strategic success during Operation Overlord. Further east, Omaha Beach reveals the scale and intensity of the American assault through its wide sands and towering bluffs.
The day concludes at the Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer. Overlooking the English Channel, this solemn site offers time for reflection among the rows of white headstones honoring those who sacrificed their lives during the Battle of Normandy.
