Small Group Tour: Chenonceau and Chambord Castles: A Royal Journey Through History
Travel from Tours into the heart of the Loire Valley on a full-day guided experience featuring two of France’s most iconic châteaux: Chenonceau and Chambord. The day begins at Château de Chenonceau, an elegant Renaissance residence famously spanning the Cher River. Often called the “Ladies’ Castle,” this refined estate reflects the influence of powerful women such as Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de Medici. Guests explore richly furnished interiors, the iconic gallery above the river, and formal gardens that showcase centuries of art and design.
After free time, the journey continues to Château de Chambord, the largest château in the Loire Valley and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Commissioned by King Francis the First, Chambord impresses with its monumental scale, ornate rooftop skyline, and the celebrated double-helix staircase linked to Leonardo da Vinci. Guided visits at both sites bring their history, architecture, and royal ambition vividly to life.
