Shared Tour: Venice Islands Day Trip - Murano, Burano and Torcello 10:25AM
Spend the day on a guided tour of the islands of the Venetian Lagoon. Travel by boat to Murano, known for its extraordinary glassmaking tradition. Tour an authentic glass factory for a history lesson and to watch a glassblowing demonstration. Next, explore charming Burano. Brightly colored fisherman’s houses look out over the lagoon, while the island’s central squares are lined with family-run restaurants. Stop at the lace museum to see the exquisitely delicate and detailed lace that made the women of the island famous. Your final stop is Torcello, one of the first Venetian Islands settled after the fall of the Roman Empire. The island is sparsely populated and scarcely visited, which makes its 7th-12th century historical churches and sites a serene way to end your day.
