Small Group: Outlander Castles & The Scottish Countryside Day Tour with castle entry
Step into the world of Outlander on this full-day tour through some of Scotland’s most memorable filming locations. Departing from Glasgow, this scenic journey explores historic castles, charming villages, and dramatic coastal fortresses that helped bring the story of Jamie and Claire to life.
Begin at Doune Castle, a 14th-century stronghold featured as Castle Leoch, then continue to the village of Culross, the setting for Cranesmuir. Stroll its cobbled streets and see the herb garden that doubled as Claire’s. In Falkland, walk through the town that portrayed 1940s Inverness and visit the Bruce Fountain—famous for Jamie’s ghostly appearance in the series’ opening episode.
The afternoon includes a stop at Midhope Castle, the real-life Lallybroch. Although the castle interior is closed to the public, the peaceful estate offers iconic photo opportunities. End the day at Blackness Castle, a coastal fortress used as Fort William. After exploring its dramatic towers and waterfront views, return to Glasgow in time for dinner.
