Buda Castle District: Private Tour including Gellért Hill
Rising more than 100 meters above the Danube, the Buda district holds Budapest's oldest stories, in the spires of medieval churches, the ramparts of a royal castle, and the restorative waters of centuries-old thermal baths. This private 3.5-hour walking tour explores the historic heart of Buda in depth, covering its most celebrated hilltop landmarks before concluding at one of the city's most iconic thermal experiences.
Travelers begin at Castle Hill, where the five-century-old Matthias Church, site of royal coronations and weddings, and the fin-de-siecle Fisherman's Bastion deliver some of Budapest's finest architectural spectacle. The tour continues through the gardens of Buda Castle before ascending Gellért Hill, a 235-meter summit named after a saint whose dramatic death gave the hill its name. The tour concludes at the Rudas Baths, a 16th-century Ottoman spa renowned for its domed pool, thermal waters, and a rooftop hot tub with panoramic Danube views.
