Private Tour: Sicilian Flavors at the Farm - Cooking Class near Taormina from Catania
Set in the countryside near Taormina, this private cooking class invites guests into the rhythms of authentic Sicilian farm life for an immersive culinary experience. After hotel pickup from Catania, the journey leads to a local farm where guests begin with a tasting of extra virgin olive oil, freshly produced on the property. In the kitchen, local hosts guide the group through two of Sicily's most beloved dishes.
First, guests learn the ancient technique of hand-rolling macaroni using the "ferretto", a traditional thin metal rod, followed by a lesson in crafting Sicilian cannoli, from shaping the shells to preparing fresh ricotta filling from scratch. The session concludes with a long, rustic table lunch of Maccheroni alla Norma and cannoli with sweet ricotta, accompanied by local wine, a fitting celebration of everything made with their own hands.
