Explore the UNESCO town of Dürnstein or hike up to the castle ruins where King Richard the Lionhearted was once imprisoned. Enjoy 2 Wine Tastings of varieties only found in the Wachau region at local family owned wineries (Steinfeder, Federspiel & Smaragd). Sample local specialties such as schnapps and apricot brandy. Have lunch in Weissenkirchen at a typical Wachau wine tavern (not included), then a 1 hour Ferry ride up the Danube River from Spitz to Melk with a photo opportunity of Melk Abbey. Explore country villages and back roads that other tours simply cannot reach and learn about the region fascinating history and culture from friendly, expert guide/driver.
