Private Tour: E-Bike Tour of the Appian Way
Travelers discover one of Ancient Rome’s most storied landscapes on this private guided cycling experience along the Via Appia Antica, the legendary “Queen of Roads.” Created to connect Rome with southern Italy, this ancient route later became an important link between the Roman and Greek worlds. Today, it forms part of one of Europe’s most impressive open-air archaeological parks.
The ride begins from a selected meeting point and continues past ancient thermal baths and remnants of the imperial walls before entering Appia Antica Archaeological Park. Along the way, guests cycle over stretches of original Roman pavement and through the peaceful scenery of Appia Antica Park and Caffarella Park. Towers, mausoleums, Roman villas, and the remains of towering aqueducts line the route.
Because this is a private tour, the itinerary can be tailored with the guide. Possible highlights include the Catacombs, Villa dei Quintili, and the Museum of the Walls.
