Shared Tour: Bavarian Mountains tour
Königssee, known as King's Lake, sits in a dramatic fjord-like landscape at the foot of the legendary Watzmann massif within Berchtesgaden National Park, the only national park in the German Alps. The emerald-green lake, famed for its crystalline waters and steep surrounding rock faces, is one of Bavaria's most celebrated natural wonders. This afternoon tour departs from Salzburg, following a scenic Alpine route through the Bavarian Alps before arriving at the lakeside village of Königssee. Travelers stroll the northern shore toward the Malerwinkel lookout, a vantage point that captures one of the most spectacular views of the lake. The journey then continues into the charming mountain town of Berchtesgaden, set against a sweeping Alpine panorama near the Austrian border. Guests have time to wander its streets, explore local artisan shops, and settle in for a traditional Bavarian coffee and homemade cake.
