Lake Lucerne and the heights of Bürgenstock bring mountain scenery and lakeside charm together on this day trip from Zurich. A coach ride leads to Lucerne, where a guide introduces the Chapel Bridge, Town Hall, and Jesuit Church during a short orientation drive. Guests then have approximately 6 hours to explore Lucerne and Bürgenstock at their own pace.
A shuttle boat crosses Lake Lucerne to Kehrsiten, where the Bürgenstock funicular climbs to the resort above the water. Guests can visit the Bürgenstock Hotel Museum to learn about the resort's history and its famous visitors, including Charlie Chaplin and Audrey Hepburn. The panoramic terrace offers a place to pause over views of the lake and surrounding mountains.
Those ready to walk can follow the Felsenweg path toward the Hammetschwand Lift, which operates in summer, or hike to the Hammetschwand viewpoint. After time among the resort's shops and trails, guests return to Lucerne by funicular and boat before traveling back to Zurich.
